Recognizing an outstanding Lackawanna staff member, Truman Pre-K Teacher Kate Wilkinson.
"It has been an honor to work for the Lackawanna City School District for the past 35 years. When I interviewed for my position here, the district was hiring a 6th grade teacher and a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. My story began when I was hired as a Pre-K teacher. This is where I have remained for my entire career. My days are exhausting but so much FUN! To work with our district's youngest learners and watch the learning process unfold is so exciting.
My students give me a reason to celebrate every day. I have taught alongside the most amazing colleagues who value early childhood education as much as I do. I can truly say that this career is fulfilling and has brought out the best in ME!"
