Dear Truman Elementary School Families,

I am honored and thrilled to introduce myself as the new principal of Truman Elementary School. As a lifelong resident of Lackawanna and a proud former student of Truman, this opportunity to lead and serve in a place so close to my heart is truly special.

Truman Elementary has long been known for its tradition of excellence, strong sense of community, and deep care for its students. I am committed to upholding this proud legacy while embracing new opportunities for growth, learning, and success for our students, our staff, and our families.

With a passion for education and a heart for children, I bring 30 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership, 27 of those right here in the Lackawanna City School District. I firmly believe that every child can achieve great things when supported by a dedicated team of educators and a strong partnership with families. I am committed to fostering open communication, collaboration, and trust with each of you.

As principal, my goal is to ensure that every student at Truman Elementary feels safe, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential in an inclusive and engaging learning environment. I believe in nurturing a love of learning, encouraging creativity and critical thinking, and supporting each child's social and emotional well-being.

As we begin this exciting new school year together, please know how much I value the vital role families play in a child’s success. Your input, involvement, and support are essential to the learning experience, and I look forward to building strong, lasting relationships with each of you.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out, as I welcome your questions, ideas, and feedback. Together, we will continue to make Truman Elementary a place where children grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I am excited for all that lies ahead and look forward to an amazing year as we embark on this journey together.

Warmly,

Julie Clark
