This week's staff highlight recognizes Truman Special Education Teacher, Fawn Scott. Read Fawn's bio below!
"For as long as I can remember, my dream has been to become a teacher. I have dedicated over 17 years to the field of education, with more than ten of those years spent teaching. The majority of my experience has been in special education. Currently, I teach a self-contained K/1 class at Truman Elementary, and I absolutely love my job. There's something incredibly fulfilling about engaging with students of diverse abilities; it’s both challenging and exciting, and it never feels boring.
Each day presents an opportunity to help a child achieve success, even in the smallest ways, which is so incredibly rewarding. Having spent three years in Lackawanna, I’ve developed a strong desire to "be more" and "do more" for my students and their families. I recently enrolled in the school district leadership program at Canisius College, with the desire to become a building leader one day. I appreciate every chance to collaborate with so many exceptional colleagues whom I admire and respect."
