Truman Elementary students in Mrs. Radder’s art class were excited to have volunteers from our Lackawanna High School’s National Honor Society come in and help them with their art centers and projects throughout the day. Many of the Truman students who have family members in the high school were able to share and connect with the high schoolers and enjoyed the opportunity to talk with them.
The volunteer's visit was helpful in more ways than one with some English as a new language (ENL) learners in class being able to effectively learn and communicate while working on their projects, providing the high schoolers with a valuable opportunity to make the new students feel safe and welcomed in the classroom.
Thank you to our LHS Honor Society volunteers who were able to visit and help!
