Students learn to "Hop Up and Jump Up

In celebration of the Valentine's Day season, first-grade music students at Truman Elementary School in Lackawanna learned a song called "Hop Up and Jump Up," an American Shaker song, created by the Shirley, Massachusetts Society around 1847.

Students in Ms. Dietrich's class "hop up and jump up," "whirl 'round" and "gather love" with scarves as they sing this sweet tune. The scarves and added dance movements give this song a modern twist.
